How do I maintain the compass hinge?
What paper stock do you recommend?
Each kit includes a tension adjustment key. If the hinge feels loose, turn the central screw clockwise by a fraction of a degree until the desired resistance is restored.
Our tools perform best on heavy-stock, textured cotton paper (250gsm or higher). The slight tooth of the paper grabs the graphite, producing crisp, dark lines.
